Women, Infants and Children
Blueprints Women, Infants and Children program offers comprehensive nutrition assessment and education, along with health screenings, to pregnant women, postpartum women, infants, and children from birth through age five who qualify. Participants receive benefits for healthy foods on an EBT card, which can be used at local grocery stores. These food benefits are rich in protein, iron, calcium, and vitamins A and C—essential nutrients for growth and development. Healthy food options include milk, yogurt, cheese, fruits, vegetables, eggs, peanut butter, beans, and whole grains. Additionally, eligible WIC participants receive farmers’ market vouchers during the summer, allowing them to purchase locally grown fruits and vegetables.
Our program makes referrals to healthcare and social services to support participants’ broader needs. Breastfeeding support is a key component of our services, provided by breastfeeding peer counselors and Certified Lactation Counselors (CLCs). This support includes free prenatal breastfeeding classes and continued assistance after the baby is born. We also offer a breast pump program, enabling participants to rent hospital-grade breast pumps or receive replacement parts for single-user pumps at no cost. At our Plaza Building location, we provide a welcoming breastfeeding lounge where any visitor can breastfeed or pump in comfort and privacy.
For babies who are not breastfed or require supplementation, we provide formula benefits to ensure they receive the nutrition they need. With these services, we aim to support the health and well-being of families in our community.
