When the holidays come, it is particularly stressful to know that they will not be able to provide their children that magical Christmas experience that many of us take for granted. Blueprints is excited to share the incredible individual, community and corporate generosity that took place over the last month.

Bluestar, a local pipeline construction company, organized a “Holiday Wish” campaign that ultimately provided and delivered Christmas trees, stands and decorations to 50 Blueprints’ families. EQT and Range Resources were key donors that made this possible. “Our daughter absolutely loves the tree! It has brightened all of our holidays immensely,” one family wrote.

…and…

Melissa & Todd Stein, of Stein Wealth Advisors, raised more than $2700 to purchase new pajamas, hats and gloves/mittens for 123 foster children in Blueprints’ care; and then matched the donations, dollar for dollar! Blueprints and our children are forever grateful!

…and…

More than ten years ago, Todd & Suzanne Ashmore and their extended family and friends started “sponsoring” Blueprints’ families for the Christmas Holiday. Knowing that so many parents miss the joy of seeing their children light up when Santa has visited, they rallied the troops and made that happen for about 20 families each year. Seven years ago, Todd & Suzanne’s “Gregg Family Christmas” inspired the Peter’s Township Interact Club to do the same thing, growing the number of families supported to more than 40. Three years ago, the initiative inspired a local woman, Seashal Belldina of McMurray, to recruit her friends, family and neighbors to participate as well, growing the reach of this holiday philanthropy to more than 70 families. Last year, 323 children from 118 local families received a Christmas they most certainly did not expect.

This year, 494 children from 202 families were the recipients of an incredible outpouring of generosity. They experienced a Christmas they would not have otherwise had, and surely will not forget.

Blueprints thanks and salutes the 176 individuals and businesses/organizations/groups who pulled together to make Christmas 2018 magical for so many of our families in economic transition. Many of the sponsors even delivered the gifts to the families themselves. On December 15th, 8 drivers took time on a weekend to make the rest of the deliveries to all corners of Washington and Greene Counties.

Blueprints especially thanks Todd Ashmore for his logistical mastery in coordinating the project, Seashal Belldina for introducing Blueprints and this project to more than 200 people, the Peter’s Township High School Interact Club, and 16 Blueprints staff members for their overwhelming support and commitment to community!
