Tax time will be here before you know it and Blueprints would like to help you make your taxes less taxing this year. Our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA), in partnership with the Internal Revenue Service and the United Way of Southwestern PA, will offer free online basic income tax filing from January 23rd to April 4th, 2017. Last year, we helped file 484 returns for a total of $644, 035 in refunds that went to local families.
If you are a resident of Washington or Greene County and you earned less than $54,000 in 2017, you may be eligible for this program. To make an appointment or find out if you are eligible, please call PA 2-1-1 Southwest by dialing 2-1-1 on your phone. Representatives will be available to take your call starting January 10th, 2017, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
We will be offering appointments in Waynesburg every Tuesday from 4 PM to 8 PM and every Wednesday in Washington from 1 PM to 8 PM. Appointments are required for this program.
For your appointment, you will need to bring valid photo ID, a social security card for every person on the tax return and all 2017-income documents. If you would like to have their refund directly deposited into a bank account, you must also bring your account information on an official document with your routing and account numbers on it, such as a check.
