Have you always wanted to teach, or think it’s something you’d like to do? We have a great volunteer opportunity available. Blueprints is currently recruiting volunteers in Washington and Greene Counties to tutor students in our Adult Education Program. The Adult Education Program is designed to assist area residents age 17 or older to obtain their high school equivalency diploma and/or increase their learning skills so they may enroll in a trade school or college or gain employment. They could sure use your help!

We need volunteers to assist Pennsylvania-Certified Teachers with classes in Bentleyville, Carmichaels, Donora, Washington and Waynesburg. Classes are held on various days and times each week in those communities, or volunteers can also tutor students outside of the classroom through individual sessions at area libraries.

We will provide the training for you. Volunteers will be asked to tutor students in subjects in which they are comfortable, including reading, writing, science, social studies and math. Volunteers must either have a Bachelor’s Degree or be actively pursuing a four-year degree at a college or university.

If you are interested in volunteering or if you would like more information, please contact Anna Carnahan at 724.225.9550 ext. 437. Your imprint on our students’ lives could make all the difference.
