Washington, PA – Community Action Southwest’s Home Ownership Center will launch a workshop series entitled, “Building Your Financial House” beginning in March. The four session workshop series will be offered on the third Saturday of March, April, May and June from 9 a.m. until noon.
The workshops, designed to help residents identify financial strengths, challenges and strategies in order to begin to think about purchasing a home, will be held at Community Action Southwest’s offices located at 150 West Beau Street in Washington.
In addition to the monthly workshops, participants will be paired with a certified HUD-Housing Counselor who will meet with them individually to develop action plans designed to help them achieve their housing-related financial goals.
The workshops and individual coaching sessions will be offered free-of-charge as they are being sponsored by the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency.
The Home Ownership Center is a program of Community Action Southwest; the center exists to help anyone looking to build, purchase or maintain a home in Washington or Greene Counties. Housing Counselors can help area residents build or purchase a home, repair their credit and/or avoid foreclosure.
The Home Ownership Center receives funding through HUD, the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency, Washington County’s Local Share Account and the United Way of Washington County.
