Washington, PA — The Home Ownership Center of Washington County will launch a Workshop Series entitled, “Building Your Financial House” on Wednesday, September 17th from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
The workshops, designed to help residents identify financial strengths, challenges and strategies in order to begin to think about purchasing a home, will be held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month through May 2015.
In addition to the monthly workshop, participants will be paired with a certified HUD-Housing Counselor who will meet with them individually to develop action plans designed to help them achieve their housing-related financial goals.
The workshops and individual coaching sessions will be offered free-of-charge as they are being sponsored by the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency. Childcare will also be available free-of-charge at each of the workshops.
The Home Ownership Center is a program of Community Action Southwest; the center exists to help anyone looking to build, purchase or maintain a home. Housing Counselors can help area residents build or purchase a home, repair their credit and/or avoid foreclosure.
The Home Ownership Center receives funding through HUD, the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency, Washington County’s Local Share Account and the United Way of Washington County.
