Jump, Frog, Jump

Early Head Start

Supplies:

White construction paper

Green Paint

Paint Brush

Black Marker

 

Directions:

  1. Paint your child’s hand green
  2. Press the hand down on a piece of paper this will make the bottom of the frog.
  3. Lift the child’s hand up and paint eyes onto the upper part of the frog.
  4. When the frog has dried use the black marker to make a mouth and add black circles in the eyes.

Supplies:

Blue construction paper

Q-tip

White paint

Black marker.

 

Directions:

  1. Take the blue construction paper and fold it in half.
  2. Make your own cloud by dipping the Qtip into the white paint and putting white dots all over one side of the paper.
  3. Fold the paper back up and rub the two pieces of paper together.
  4. When finished with the cloud you can use the black marker to write what your cloud looks like on your piece of paper.

 

Early Head Start

  1. Use green construction paper to cut out circles for your lily pads.
  2. Once you have cut out your circles then cut a small triangle out of the circles so your lily pad looks like Pac Man.
  3. Use a black marker to number your lily pads.
  4. Lay the lily pads down on the floor with at least two inches between them.
  5. Have the child jump on the numbered lily pads and say the number they are jumping on.

A piece of paper

Marker or Pen

Cotton balls

Glue

  1. Use the marker or pen to draw a triangle, square, circle and rectangle on the paper.
  2. Carefully pull a cotton ball apart to fill in shape on the paper.
  3. Name the shape that you are putting the cotton ball in
  4. Use the glue to glue the cotton ball onto the shape on the paper.

5. Repeat steps 1-5 until all the shapes on the piece of paper are filled in.

Play leapfrog

  1. Put pillows down in a straight line on the floor.
  2. Have the child leap like a frog over the pillows.
  3.  Allow the child to leap like a frog as many times as they would like.

If it is nice outside go outside and look up at the sky to see if you can see clouds and tell someone what the clouds look like.

 

Early Head Start

Oil and water sensory bag

1 Gallon size freezer bag or any size ziplock bag.

  1. Baby Oil
  2. Water
  3. Duct tape
  4. Liquid food coloring

 

  1. Get your freezer bag or ziplock bag and duct tape.  Place the tape on half of the bag and fold it over to the other side. Tape up the sides of the bag and then bottom of the bag.
  2. Put in about 1/4 cup of baby oil into the bag
  3. Add a few drops of food coloring into the bag
  4. Add in about 1/4 cup of water into the bag.
  5. Seal the bag, pushing out most to all of the air.  If air is left in the bag the bag will possibly pop.
  6. Use duct tape to tape the top of the bag by placing the tape on half of the bag and folding it over to the other side.
  7. Allow the child to play and explore the bag.

Make cloud dough

Supplies:

2 cups of corn starch

1 cup conditioner (baby lotion will work the same if you don’t have conditioner)

Blue food coloring (optional)

 

Get 2 cups of corn starch and 1 cup of conditioner.

Mix the ingredients together.

Once the dough starts to form you can take it out and form the dough into any shape to make a cloud.

Add blue food coloring to make blue clouds.
